I am not a rich man and cannot afford a boat right now. I am looking for a decent spot that a man can catch striper from the shore on Lake Texoma. Do these spots exist any more? Would anyone be willing to help out a blue collar man with this? Any help is greatly appreciated.
certain times of year yes indeed...right now a bit of luck would help you as the stripers are really on the move. best best to wade out on any flats you can get to...platter,texas,sherwood etc for examples and hit the early/late bites. if not any points with deep water close should hold a few fish at least. topwater and shad plastics will get some strikes.
Another flat area to try is out on the end of Preston Point. Drive down FM 120 (Preston bend Road) till it ends at the lake. You can park at the end of the road. Walk the shore line south about 100 yrds to the cove. You will usually see a few folks wading in the cove or fishing from the bank on the point first and last light. This spot is boom or bust.
Too many shad last winter in my marina. I think we will have the same conditions this year. Huge shad spawn survival rate from the flood. Those guys had a big spawn again this year. On the bright side, the lake is very healthy and the Stripers are growing like weeds. Big blooms in bait population are usually followed by blooms in fish population.

With a wind out of the north and pushing bait into the Eisenhower shorelines, I'd fish the banks from the dam toward the Eisenhower area. Take some light tackle along and also try for smallmouth bass with 1/4 oz. Roadrunners and a twister tail dressing.
