My Marine son, Dan, and his girlfriend flew in last weekend for a visit after she graduated from the Border Patrol Academy in New Mexico. We took them out to Ray Bob for some crappie fishing, but got skunked. We did, however, manage a few dinky bass and overall had a fun day despite the wind and chop.

Here’s the best fish I could muster up Saturday...pretty sad, I know.

Even my wife managed to haul in this future hog.


Dan didn’t catch anything Saturday and I felt bad for him so I included this photo of him with this more respectable bass from a lake in So Cal where he’s stationed.


Couldn’t help throwing in this picture which was taken after her Border Patrol Academy graduation. They make a pretty nice couple don’t they?
