I thought for a long time about whether to post this, but decided that it has worked for others, so why not. Long time lurker occasional poster. My mother in law is widowed and she lives across the street from Harry. Harry is a widower and they usually get together every day for drinks around 5 or so most days, go to lunch sometimes and would go with my wife and I out to eat on weekends. Him and my MIL come out to our house to eat supper when the wife cooks. They have become very good friends and look out for each other. Harry is a WWII vet (Marine) and a retired judge and lawyer. He is the nicest man I have met in a long time. He will talk about himself only when asked and most of the time deflects the conversation back to someone or something else. When he will talk about his life, you realize he has led a full and interesting one. He always asks how the fish are biting and sometimes tells me of the time he owned a place on Possum Kingdom and how they would wear the sand bass out. I cooked up a bunch of crappie and had them over and he would rave about how good the fish was. You could tell he really enjoyed it. Anyway, Harry is in the hospital after falling and cracking a couple of ribs. His kidneys are acting up and has to have dialysis a couple of times a week. He has a couple of other things going on and the doctors told him today he has a 50-50 chance of weathering the latest round of setbacks. So, if you good folks would say a few good words for a good Marine a good American and an all round good guy we could make those odds better for him. Thanks for your support.

I thought I would update ya'll on Harrys condition and thank you for your thoughts and prayers. They told him today that he won't have to have dialysis that his kidneys started functioning properly again. He was in a much better frame of mind today and was almost chipper again. Still has a ways to go but he looked a lot better today. Again thanks and please keep them up.
