Some buddies and I will be staying at Lake Fork Lodge (Hwy. 17 and Hwy. 515) in mid-February for about 4 - 5 days as we fish. Does anybody have any recommendations for places to eat that are close by? Is the Pizza & Pasta restaurant still open right across the road?

Don't know if tthe pizza place is still open. Ate there once and it was just so so.

AJ's fish buffet is right next door to the pizza place. They cook some pretty good catfish, and there is a LOT of other stuff on the buffet too. It's not the BEST catfish buffet I've ever had, but it comes pretty close. They make a pecan pie cobbler on the dessert bar that is worth the drive.

The Pizza Place is now called the Ranchhouse and they have a pretty good breakfast buffet and not to bad of a dinner buffet.
Oak Valley across the bridge an 515 towards Winnsboro is the best fish and shrimp you can eat.

I would suggest a drive to Mineola and stop at Mac's Split Rail BBQ. Was driving into Mineola to go to the WalMart and instead of following the main road kept going straight and seen this place and thought lets try it. Stuffed this IL boy up right real good. Excellent food and great service to boot.
