Are they still made? They are or were a gas powered trolling motor. Mine weighed 12 pounds and was 1.7hp. Seen on on Ebay that was 17 lbs and 2.7 hp. Are they still available?

they were made by shindawa under the green machine name. green machine folded and shindawa discontinued the production of this motor. great little motors if you can find one, but i would say if your looking into a motor the 5 hp briggs are the way to go. real simple to work on. i have seen briggs that were run out of oil and froze up that were able to be unlocked with ease. (force flywheel to spin without spark plug installed)

smart shark, that is too much motor for my purpose

finz2right,
You sure are right about the noise. They had no muffler, just a steel tube bolted to the exhauset port that ran dirtectly intothe water.I had the 1.7 hp on a little 7' dinghy on Caddo. I had about a 1/4 to 1/2 mile slough to negotiate to get out to the main channel from my house. That exhaust pipe pipe came lose one time but i ran it anyway and yes it was loud. When I got out to the end of the slough I saw two bass boats hugging the edge of the water. They flagged me down which I was used to cause it was an odd ball rig. They said they got out of the way cause they didn't know what the hell was coming out of the woods.

Hope its still around when I get the money to buy it.
