I have some friends that yak at night, they alway have someone on shore to guide them in. I didn't do it when I had a yak, too many rays in shallow. I traded in my yak on the boat below..

I have a couple of 6/0 with rods for sale. I need to clean them up, $80 for one or $130 for both. I'm in SA.

One is in great condition, the other has a bent prong on the star drag and sometimes it sticks.

Here is a pic of the one with the bent prong. I decided to sell them both since I haven't been to the beach in about a year.

If you are going to do that at night as I have done but not shark fishing have a buddy or 2 that are on shore wear one of the head lamps with the red light, it also has LED lights on it so you will always know the direction to go to get back in the spot you put in.

Here is a video with a 9 foot shark being landed on a 6/0 with a short stand up rod. This is why we recommend something short.
