It was really a great event and I made a better friend that is my partner for the day he told me that this was the coolest thing ever to happen in his life I was just that glad to be able to give that to him and to see his face light up with a special present to him from the team and all our sponsors it was just to cool....

That's great.. We had 95 from Ft Hood and the Ft Worth JRB at Lake Fork last weekend.
Air Force , Marines and Soldiers

A lot of thse soldiers have never been fishing in a boat.. so a Hi Performance Bass Boat ride is a real treat.. once they get over the initial shock.

Combine that with seasoned boaters that know how to fish so that they enjoy the trip more & learn to catch a fish... they eat it up.

The main thing is it gets them away from the hospital ward and back into the outdoors.It really helps their healing process knowing there are every day people that care about them.

Showing them We appreciate their sacrifice is all the thanks they need.

Choke Canyon Reservoir and Belton Lake are the annual host locations for “Fishing for Freedom”, tournaments that pair local fishermen with wounded Soldiers, for a day of tournament bass fishing on an awesome fishery, especially for them. Both events are heavily supported, and only made possible through the generosity of sponsors, such as; local businesses, volunteers, and caring local and regional anglers. Fishing For Freedom is just one of the ways the ArmyBassAnglers team lives up to the SUPPORT pillar in its three pronged mission statement.
