I was out Sat morning bankfishing in a cove in Murrell park and saw 6-8 boats in and around the same cove, up to 5 in at a time. Talk about crowded! I found out later in the day that they were there for the tourney.

As far as I saw, I was the only one who caught anything in the cove - 2 small slots and 1 14" sandbass. It seemed kinda funny that the boats were circling in and among the stumps that they would throw at, instead of staying outside the stumps and throwing in to them. There was one boat that tied up to the stump where I caught the first slot about 10 min after I caught it in front of him. Just seemed odd to position the boats on top of the most appealing spots to throw at. I felt bad cause the 2nd slot was in a "hot spot" that 2-3 boats had been circling each other around for about an hour, throwing worms and jigs at stumps. I caught it on a worm about 10 min after they cleared out.

Kinda felt bad, but I'm assuming you can't weigh in slots anyway, right?

5.38 won the tournament, followed by a bunch of 4 pounders. Bite was very tough on most people. Alot of slot fish were reported being caught.
