Copano Bay pier, the old bridge on Hwy 35 just north of Fulton. Also, there is a pier at Fulton Harbor, 650'. Very nice pier. IIRC, both are $2 per pole. From what I understand, both of these are operated by the same vendor.

Goose Island State Park pierin(Rockport)...Great for trout at night under lights...Mostly schoolies on my trip there last week...But lots of action...Caught over 50, with 5 keepers on 3" Gulp shrimp... 2 at a time(schoolies 11"-13") with tandem rigged 1"-2" curly tail swim baits...Clear with silver-green glitter worked best... But plain white crappie jigs will work also... A lot of sand trout also, and small white croakers... All on small 1" smim baits....
Also, Horace Caldwell Pier in (PortA) is open... Or you can fish the South Jetty for free, right next to it... Reds(Bulls and slots), on cut mullet in the channel on incoming tide....
Packery Channel Jetties in(Mustang Island-Corpus Christi)are easily fished, with flat concrete walk way...

Ok I think I may have found the pier I will start fishing on . Going to Port Lavaca St Park Pier (causeway ) on friday and see what it looks like . Seems like that is the closet big public pier to Houston .If anyone knows of any other piers around south Texas in good condition please list them .

I'm pretty sure that is burned down. I talked to a guy at Goose Island and he said the pier they have now is junk. Hardhead city. You might try Indianola. Copano Bay is good and there is always lots of action for trout at Goose Island. Most of them small though.

Don't know what is meant by junk, as it relates to the Goose Island pier, but I was out there maybe 6 weeks ago, and the pier was fine. It was my first venture there, and I didn't even have a pole. Wished I had though, as I saw a nice black drum feeding in the shallow water. As far as hard heads, there is an abundance of them everywhere, especially if you fish at night.
Seems it was five or six bucks a person to enter the park there though. Sorta steep if you ask me. Seems I've been in other parks that were only a couple bucks.

I don't know anything about a concrete pier in Port Lavaca. Goose Island is good. I was saying the new pier at Port Lavaca is junk, from a few reports I've heard. Just drive down there BOBTX and see what happens. Let me know how it goes. I'm always looking for new places to go. If it is junk you can just keep on going south to Copano Bay or Goose Island where you will find some good fishing for sure right now. I'll be down in Port A next weekend and will let you know how it goes there.

Indian Point Pier between Corpus and Portland off of 181 was pretty good for me a few years back. I have not been there in a while but off the end with long cast you could reach a channel and catch HUGE black drum. I caught mostly sand trout when I was there.

I always go to Copano pier and it's not that great to me. Yes you can get ton of trout and gaftops but a lot of rays too. No hardheads.
I tie my rods to the pier and one time in the middle of the night my surf rod just goes horizontal with the drag screaming. Well it screamed until I was out of line and BAM! Probably a shark... who knows.

On the upper Texas Coast, around the Galveston area, the Surfside Jetty produces well for specks. The Jetty is about 1,000 yards long, and is paved on top all the way down, and it is free.
Now some folks might be upset with me for saying this on a public forum, but they have been catching some nice snook over on that Jetty that past two years.
I have fished all the piers in that region and my favorite spot is the surfside jetty.
