I'm taking some guys down to the Port Lavaca area this weekend to do some wade fishing. Considering last weekends storm and this weeks cold front how do you think we will fair? From what I've heard Ike had very little impact to that area. I'm thinking that with the cooler weather this week the fish bite should be on? Opinions? fish

Wow 30 views already and no opinions? I'm not asking for fishing spots. Just trying to find out the conditions of the bay waters. frown

I was going to matagorda this weekend, but don't feel like driving through houston or anywhere around it to get there, so we're staying home and sucking up the O.T.

people are probably still ailing about losing their homes and possessions...I would give it a little more time before getting too many responses. Your timing is not the greatest as it may seem to some to be a tad insensitive...ie asking where a good restaurant is while attending a funeral.

I got a report last night that with the North wind and high water the Reds have been biting good in grassy areas. The guide I spoke with said he puts in somewhere here near Rockport and runs up to Matagorda (about a 15 minute run for him). I'm not at all familiar with that area, so I can't help you more than that.

My prayers and heart go out to all whom have suffered or lost anything due to the recent hurricane. However there has been alot of fishing talk on this forum during and after the storm. Are you letting everyone elso know how "insensitive" they are being?

Well it was a tough weekend in this area. We found alot of schooling bait but no hungry fish. Was anyone on the water in West Maty or the lakes south of POC? If so did you have any better luck? Thanks for the input.

we fished POC the 25th-27th, had similar experiance first 2 days but did manage a 30" bull red at the jetties. Last day went to Seadrift and fished Hines bay. Limited out on nice reds and hit trout hard too. Tried all lakes from shoalwater over to panther and back to pringle with no luck.
