Folks,
I found the following advert for a cabin with a stocked pond ...

http://www.emoryguide.com/cabin.htm

This seems great but it got me thinking ... I am more than willing to pay the "the rate" (what ever that might be) to fish a stocked pond within ... say ... an hour's drive of Fort Worth. Does anyone know of any stocked ponds where the owners would let myself and my wife fish (catch and release) where we would be willing to pay a sensible payment for access?

Neil

This probably won't help you much, but a couple of years ago there was a rancher from Throckmorton or thereabouts who was posting about pay fishing at his place. He had several stocked/managed bass ponds. A few folks from this forum tried it out, mixed reviews, mostly positive. Maybe one of them will see this post and give you his contact info.

There is a bass club that fishes the Furst ranch up north of the Texas Motor Speedway that has some excellent c&r fishing.

Thanks roadtrip ... if anyone has information, I'd love to hear.

DeerStrangler ... thanks for the info ... based on your words I found the following:

http://www.americanfishandgameclub.com/huntingsites.asp?ID=183

which is about the best I could find. I haven't found any direct links about rates, where to pay or how to get access. 50 acres was more than I was looking for. I was more thinking a couple of acres pond ... but if this thing contains good bass ...

This may have been the one you're talking about.

I never went out there. He used to charge a daily rate to fish but he switched it over to a pretty expensive annual membership.
