Keeb and I were talking about wanting XM weather for these big screens. Eddie- do you know if that is a viable option that could be considered in the future? being on the water and seeing the storms would be a blessing on big lakes smile

Just finished updating the software in the 1197. Reset the factory defaults and sitting in the driveway, the 2D function seemed to be working properly given that it isn't sitting in the water. Given the weather tomorrow, I will try to get it to the lake and test it in it's intended environment.

Eddie would you please give me a call when you can! I would like to talk to you personally before I send my units to you. I would like to go out to the lake and call you on a cell phone and have you walk me thru the steps. I have not had the time to take my units out yet!! Thanks, Shayne 817-676-8912

If you know some one with the same units that work, I was wondering if you could swap them boat to boat to troubleshoot if its a bad transducer or control head? If you met on the lake it would only take a few minutes. I don't have one yet so I'm just guessing here.

XM weather will be out this year. I believe the system is $199 and the subscription is $9.95 a month.
Product number is AS WX 1 Satellite Weather Receiver.
Look for it the first of the year.

Really good new Eddie, My Cell phone on the lake does not always work.

Please post us when it's avaiable.

I'm speaking for Humminbird/Eddie but I would think it would work for anything on their Internet Link (the 797 or 997 or 1197).

That will be good (at least for me)!

Looking fowrard to that,

It will work on the 787, 797, 997 and 1197.
New models as well, the 788, and 798.

Sorry for the delay on post the real results. I went and did some testing after the firmware update and reset the defaults. All worked well. The boat was maintained in a depth of 5 ft or less and did not have any screen clutter or lockup issues.

After about 30 minutes of testing, I started to adjust settings to my preferences and still no issues. So, if you are having issues with a unit that is new out of the box, make sure to update the firmware first. For the 1197 Si guys, the version is 4.22. If you are not setup on the HB site and need this update, let me know and I will send it to you.
