I witnessed two carp caught this year on chicken liver at the local pay lake. Seems they'll bite just about anything if they're hungry enough.
My friend invited me to a party at his grand parents house last year. Behind their house they have a private pond.He said they have some nice cats in there so i decided to bring some livers. He is a newbie fisherman and has never taken any action to buy any rod holders. He baited his rod with the livers and casted it out into the water and just sat the rod on the ground. About 10 minutes later he looked at his rod and it had almost been pulled into the pond and was hanging on to the water wall by the handle. He grabbed the rod and the fish really started fighting. his little brother goes and sais he's getting the net AND COMES OUT WITH A POOL NET. We we get the carp close it was huge. I try to scoop up the carp with the pool net but the fish didn't even fit into the net. A few seconds later the line snaps and i turn around to him and say, I thought you liked fishing. We found out later that the carp weighed about 20lbs because his Jappanease neighbor who knows how to fish caught one about the same size and he had a scale. after that a bought him a net so that wouldn't happen again
