My 98' Champion's live well won't drain. I can't tell if the ball valve is not opening to drain the water or if there is something clogging it up. I find it hard to believe there is anything stopping up the drain because it has a guard around it to prevent anything from slipping through. any ideas on how to go about it?

if its the cable type, make sure the cable is still hooked to the lever and working..gunk has been known to hang the ball, so you need to put some water in, and move the release handle, at the valve,by hand, to see if it moves, and lets the water out..
some fish spit up small things, like rocks, pieces of shad, ect that can go through the screens..but most of the time its something to do with the cable..
