In fairness, mouldy, for years I couldn't feel my legs or feet and I hate wearing pants...So I've just kept the tradition up, and in reality, cold doesn't bother my legs anymore, but my nose, toes and ears are different story...

Yes...Back when I didn't have feeling in my legs, I always would have to check my feet at the end of the day to see if I had stepped on anything...One night I stepped on a steak bone my dog had chewed on and sliced my foot...The first clue something was wrong was the blood trail on the carpet...

I fell when I was 19 and had a lot of Sunday newspapers come down on top of me...A botched back surgery did the rest...It was 9 years and a lot of prayers before I felt, or had complete control over, my left leg...I lost feeling in my right leg then too, but could still control it...I walked with the aid of a cane for years...Now I'm cane free and pain free (unless I think I'm still 19 and superman and go lift something way too heavy, like an outboard motor bang)...thumb

Mouldy, I had to look up what a "plaice" was. But then I have never fished saltwater either. Maybe it's just me.

Any of the rest you yanks on this side o the pond have to look it up as well?

It would help mitigate some confusion if Fatty would stop inventing American English words; "unch"!
