When I have the stereo and sonar (Lorance X-85) on at the same time all I hear is the popping of the sonar. I think I need to install a noise filter but don't know if that would fix the problem. Does anyone have a suggestion for a good filter?

Don't go jumpin' on me. I don't listen to it while fishing but sometimes the wife and kids want to hear a little music while heading back to the dock. Also I don't have it that loud I only have 2 little 6 1/2 speakers built into the pontoon furnature. I just asked a simple question about what type of noise filter I should put on it to to remove the ping sound. If you didn't have anything useful to say why did you reply. I may be a greenhorn on this forum but I am no way wet behind the ears!
cool Just noticed I'm no longer a greenhorn I am now an outdoorsman and to think I've been playing outdoors all my life...

I think the fish would rather hear my radio over my singing

I have a stereo in my boat and have 2 sonar units and I do not get any feed back at all. I did like fishtoad said and I ran differnt wires to all my units. if you have them tied togather in anyway that would be a porblem I would think.

Thanks guys, I have the sonar on the deep cycle battery and the radio along with the gauges are on the starting batery. maybe the cable for the sonar got wrapped around the start battery wires somewhere. Or it could be the cheap Seaworthy radio.
