hi, i am a catch and realease fisherman and i would like to know if you can hold a fish such as a catfish ect. by the gills without damaging it. if so please tell me how to. thanx

i just grab it by the head....head facing out, thumb and pointing finger behind the side stingers and the palm before the top stinger....haven't had one die on me yet. Those dang things can stay out of water for 10+ minutes and still live once it goes back in the drink
