The wind was coming out of the NE, maybe 5mph. Mostly it was still and got hot after 10:00am. Some fish were jumping but that stoped early. There was an occasional boil around the lake. I can usually catch a good 30 whites (keeping just a few). Today, the number was much lower. What was it about today that made fishing bad? Is it the lunar phase stuff? Wind direction? Temperature? Recent low pressure systems with Gustav? I didn't see many boats on the lake. Is there a good thumb in the air set of data that I should know about when fishing will not be that good?

Not to fear. A few days later, late Sunday afternoon, the whites were on. So were the hybrids. The wind appeared to be swirling. Fish On!

Lake Georgetown is very low these days. They are selling way too much water to Round Rock.

I'll be glad when we get enough rain to bring the level up enough to float the boat dock at Cedar Breaks.

I'm glad you caught some fish @ Gtown...it can be tuff at times.

There are lots of fish in lake Gt. I fish from the bank all around the lake. Check this out last week from the shore.

Unofficial lake record. BTW, we rake up on whites and hybrids. On the other hand, I sort of hope people don't come to lake Gt. The lake isn't big enough to take a ton more boats. On weekdays, it is perfect, quiet, and easy to catch fish. The largemouths have really turned on in the last week, although I am still fishing for whites.
