I am extremely pleased with a couple of Okuma Epixor spinning reels I've had for 2 seasons of hard use in both fresh and salt water. They've tamed bass to #7 and reds to 30" with no problem. The drag is strong and smooth, zero bail problems (which is the weak point of all spinning reels), casting distance is great even with light baits, and durability couldn't be better. They are still going strong with minimal maintenance and I suspect they will continue to do so. Don't know if you're asking about spinning or bait casting gear but I can whole heartedly recommend the above mentioned reels.
