I was just trolling right along when it just stopped. I didn't hit anything. The battery was fine. It just stopped. What could this possibly be? Is there a fuse or could the motor just burn up? Is there any simple tests I can do before taking it to get looked at.
Would first check for voltage at conection, If none check for breaker at battery positive and one on negative line. type of boat, and type of motor would help.

Had the same problem, it turned out that my nuts on the cable to the battery were not tight enough and I kept tripping the jumpers that go between the wire and the battery.
Check your jumpers & then make sure that they are tight.....
Check all your connections even down to the foot pedal. Also I had a similar problem but with a Motorguide, but my problem turned out to be a switch on the pedal.
check the little breakers on your trolling motor batteries! make sure the trip button is pressed in on both. my minn kota 74 has to have 50amp fuse on both. 40 amps will not work.
