We need more info: Where was the break, on the hook, or on the swivel? What kind of weight? What brand of fluorocarbon leader, what kind of knots on the main line/swivel and hook? Did you use a bead? Did you cross their eyes on hookset, or did you do the customary rod sweep? It also seems strange that you would use a heavier leader than your main line.

Vanish has a bad reputation for breakoffs. And I second that.
Try a different FC,(or just use mono for a leader). If you do a search you will find many opinions on which is best. I have been using Seaguar Invisix, and the BPS XPS brand. And yes, I occasionally have breakoffs too (one today!), but it also can happen with mono. Keep searching and reading, maybe somebody will give you some more ideas. Knots is one thing. Personally I would not use a clinch knot. I have been using a Palomar on all components of the c-rig, but someone here has recommended a braid knot. If I can find the post, I will link it here. Good luck!

Get rid of the Vanish. Also tie a Palomar or uniknot.

The Vanish FL (not the 100% FL) killed me. Switched all my reels to P-Line and I'm doing MUCH better.
