Eddie,
I do not think that there are carp of any size in there. I have stopped by and talked with a few people at the lake and no one ever mentioned any large carp. There is a guy on here from San Antonio and he said that there were not any large ones also.

Loc: Where the fish are!
If the Bowfishing record is 10lbs, probably nothing too large in there. As many reds as are in there, I imagine it's full of small carp. Generally, warmer lakes will have higher populations of smaller carp, while cold lakes have smaller populations but larger fish.

Do as I do when in San Antonio. Go to the Riverwalk and have some cocktails and enjoy the views. Just got back from there today. Honestly, I would not even worry about fishing. The guys from that area usually go up to Austin (45 minutes) and fish.

If I was going to be in San Antonio I would probably fish McQueeny or Placid a bit to the north but would prolly just drive up to Austin to hit TL or LA

I live in SA and if you want to get into carp, you should probably go to Canyon Lake. Medina has some, so does all the lakes here. The ones in Cally are quite small. It is a power plant lake and is VERY warm. This time of year, the water can be 97 degrees. The same goes for Braunig. Plus, there are TONS of catfish there and all you will catch are tons of small cats.

if you are going for reds, fish with crayfish or talapia
