Hot sauce, chili, pinto beans, etc, pretty much anything you would use a jalapeno or serrano pepper for, just use a lot less. Each of the peppers have their own unique flavor in my opinion and I can usually tell which type of pepper was used based on the flavor.

i grew a bunch o peppers this year and pickled most of them. I did it the easy way. May not be the best way to do it but it turns out pretty good.
1/2 cup vinegar + 1/2 cup water with a touch of salt. Bring that to a boil. While that is coming to a boil get your peppers some baby carrots, and some cauliflower or whatever else you want to put in there and wash and put into a jar. After the vinegar + water comes to a boil take a couple tablespoons of it and pour it into the jar. Take the jar and cover it with a saucer and cook it in the microwave for 3 minutes on high. Carefully remove it and fill it with the vinegar + water mix then put the lid on it and let it cool. Few minutes later you will hear that "pop" sound when it seals then your good to go. You can also get creative and throw some spices in there if you want but even with nothing it turns out great ( if you like peppers anyway)

make a habanero jam, pour some over a block of cream cheese, eat it with regular saltines like a dip.....WOW
My mom made it for me about 10 years ago and it sounded gross until I tasted it. jalapeno jam works good also.

Also, you only need a few peppers, the jam won't go bad and can stay in your fridge for a long time, and your friends will love it!
But, making the habanero jelly can get pretty rough, make sure you have some ventilation.
