Sounds like you and Kristy had a productive evening. After we talked to you, the bite started again where we were and we ended up catching a few more crappie. When we headed back to get the spare anchor, we ended up calling it a night (@ 1 am).

Hate that we missed you guys. I was wanting Heidi to meet both of you... but what can I say, when that woman is catching fish it is hard to get her to leave... LOL If all else fails, I will drag her by the shop one day.

Total for last night was 4 whites, 6 crappie. Obviously, we were fishing minners.

Happy Labor Day to all the group!

Terry and Heidi

Yeah, we got home from the lake about 2:30 this morning and awoke at 7:30 to the sounds of opening morning for dove season. Not sure how many birds they killed, but they certainly did help out the shotshell industry.

Whites were schooling in big groups just east of Rogers where the lake splits in the three directions. It was about 3 pm.

We got off the water at 1:30, lucky my TM battery had juice left cause it got us back to the ramp!! eeks The main battery went dead and my spare got worned down from trying to jump the main battery. cry I have a total of 4 batteries on board but was to tired to change them over and we just enjoyed the slow troll back to the ramp.

Terry,

According to the TPWD website, the lake record for rod & reel on Belton for hybrids is 13.56 punds, 28 inches set in April 1994.

I still cannot believe that I lost my "lucky anchor". I fought with it for about 20 minutes and then held my knife in my hand about 5 minutes trying to decide if I had to cut the line. I need to get SI and take up diving. So far that makes 2 anchors, 2 rod and reels for us on Belton.

Lol, John was about to have to call for reinforcements. Glad the trolling motor got us back safely and just in case anyone ever wondered hellpets don't work at night, lol. Should have used a rattling rapala. You should have came over and tied onto us and fished. You could use us for an anchor and we could use you for a tow. Its a win win situation, lol.

LOL.. yeah that would have worked for both of us! We actually had every intention of heading over to see you guys, but knew we would need the anchor on that part of the lake. Then the bite came back on and by the time we headed for the anchor it was late and figured you guys were already out of there. We would have been happy to tow you.

Odd thing happened to me Friday night. I was in the Blora area on one of my "honey holes". Someone kept hollering "hey" from across the lake (Ft. Hood side). I answered them a couple of times, then they hollered "HELP"! I yelled back to see what they needed. The whole time this was going on, I could hear a boat moving around from where they had yelled from. About 15 minutes later, they decided to turn the nav lights on and motored across the lake, close to where I was fishing. Only thing that I can think of is that they wanted the spot I was on. Do not really know... but what I do know is that they should not be crying "WOLF". I am more than happy to help out anyone on the water... but do not like to be toyed with.

Howdy all. Just got back from playing in the water at Rogers with the wife and kid and In-Law. Had fun swimming and catching little perch but I did not have a very small hook so they were not staying on for long. I did have a small treble hook so I broke off two of them a tried it but then they tell me it's time to go. I should have used a smaller pole because catching perch on a hybrid pole was not much of a sport. I might make it out tonight. Only ended up with 2 blacks last night.

Fool4fishing, there were boats everywhere. I was out there showing my skeeter some guys from OK, who did buy it by the way, when the fish started coming up. Of course there were no poles in it though! Suprized me with all the traffic that they would do that. Anyway, I bought a 20 ft Alumacraft with a Honda on it. Was time to get into something newer and easier for my wife to drive. May be moving back to Temple/Belton pretty soon with my job change. Take care

I guess it's safe to hand over them slabs to Kristy since no one else posted their catch. Wasn't at big as I stated earlier, guess it shrunk! grin

trenthuntin, congrats on selling your skeeter and also congrats on your new boat. Hope to see you on the water in the near future. fish
