I'm headed down to Port O'Connor here in a couple weeks and I'm hoping to catch or trap a decent number of piggies and a few crab to use as bait at the jetties and in Pringle, Army Hole, etc. I've had no trouble coming up with the piggies on past trips but have no idea where to start to find some crab. Are there certain spots or techniques that would help me catch some crabs around POC?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Drive down to the "Little Jetties" at night and just walk out on the grass flat with a light and you'll find all the crabs you want. They are easy to see and net under a light. If you have a trap, there are a number of places where you could drop it. Right outside of Fisherman's Cut (the opening across from the Fishing Center) on the right would be a good place. The little bay there is called Barroom Bay. Just make sure you go far enough to keep the trap out of the channel and away from boat traffic.

Thanks Ojo Rojo, that's exactly the kinda help I was looking for. I'll try the light/net plan for sure. If I throw a trap I'll be sure to keep it out of boat traffic. Thanks again.
