Get in touch with Dennis for real time info on the lake. He lives right there and fishes it regularly.

I would worry about something else, in Florida there are spots where 'gators have no fear of man, but they are pretty shy around Caddo (I doubt you even see one), humans just ain't much a gators mind as a menu item (unless they are guarding a nest with eggs or young... then you're dead meat) they mate in the spring and eggs hatch when temps are in the 80's.

btw, how come every zoo I've been to in the past 10 years has a "rare" albino alligator, are they only rare outside the zoo ?

I wonder if that latest fly I posted will work on Caddo. I bet it might. I put a pic of some flashtail whistlers I was working on. The crappy camera doesn't do the fly justice, as usual. They are for a swap. But I made a 4-5 extras for my son and I. They weren't as good, but I forgot krystal flash on one, tied something a little off, so I didn't put it in the swap. The fly by itself I am afraid was too much synthetic. It isn't completely a Dan Blanton original, because I used more synthetic, and just a small bunch of light blue bucktail.

Post that date now and then on here will ya. I looked for it, and didn't see it. I am thinking of going to the Sow Bug Festival...was invited to stay at a cabin with a couple I know. So all I have to pay for is food, and whatever I buy, and a fishing license if I fish...which I dunno. It is the 19-21st of March I believe. I need to get away...but don't know if I can swing it yet. Lots of great tyers will be there I hear.

Thank you Derik. I am glad it is not in March. Lots going on right now. The wind has also been rough lately. Not to mention I am not feeling up to par in order to even go. It will be nice to finally meet some of the wonderful people here. I have already met a very small few here...but hope to meet as many as possible.

I've been racking my brain(a rare & painful moment of of thought) trying to figure how I can make the trip to Caddo with y'all. Might be able to get in some yak time. I've only fished there once out of Johnson's. Found the brim the second day and had a blast the rest of the time I was there. Rented one of the aluminum boats with motor & didn't have to worry about the other boats.
I'm really anxious to meet you folks and fish Caddo again.
Here hoping!!!???!!!

Every time I see this thread pop up I think "I just have to go." Now it looks like my mom in-law is going to have heart surgery a couple days before this, so the wife will be heading to Michigan to care for mom. I am really hoping to make this work; it'd be cool to fish with this crowd.

Sorry to hear about your mil...that is rough. Yes, we would be fun to fish with, but we can definitely understand your situation. I hope your mil gets on the road to recovery asap. Been there and got that ribbon, and it was NO FUN at all.
