My same experience! I was having trouble with 25 # XPS FC, even after using the KVD Spray. I had a bad backlash and had to cut off about 1/3 of the line. Right after I did that I caught a 6# bass on the dropoff on the first cast. I had no more trouble, and I still had plenty of line for pitching and casting jigs and big worms. I also tightened the tension screw, on the right, a little bit.

First thing I would do is make sure I don't have to much line on my spool. This can cause a lot of problems with backlashes.

Next treat your line with KVD Line & Lure. This will keep it from having the " coils" or memory. With the line being treated and relaxed now it will cast better, long and last longer as well.

Bassdreamer, send me your contact info and I will send you a bottle of KVD line & lure.

I am with Huckleberry. The more I use this stuff, the less I am impressed with it. I think that it has its place in certain lure presentations, but I do not believe that it makes a big difference in how many fish you will catch. I firmly believe that I have had better luck fishing with mono compared to flouro. Castability, stretch, and less memory are a good thing (i.e. mono) I do not think that flourocarbon gives a fisherman a big adavantage over one that uses mono. What I do think, is that most fisherman are just looking for the newest, hottest rage in fishing, and they forget that we are going after a fish with a brain the size of a pea.

Thanks for the information.

K.P. I bought some kvd line and lure from bps when I bought the xps floro but thanks for the offer.

Since I have already used both reel magic and kvd on the invisix that is on my pitching rig, is it ruined?

It is not ruined, I am merely saying that KVD L&L will not attach to the line properly with the RM oil on it. You can clean the line and retreat with KVD. Just don't use them together.

If you feel the need to continue using flouro they try it as a leader (30 yds or so), not the whole spool and replace it every trip. I stopped using it for the same reason and that really ticks me off when equipment fails. soap The water in LL, Grapevine or RayBob is always green so I use Stren Green Braid (30/8) now and have had no more problems. If I caught more fish than I do now Bill Dance would be watching my show. loco

I wish I could help but my transistion from mono to FC was pretty seamless.
For that matter I think FC casts better that most mono.
I would however follow the advice about tightening up your reel a bit, then loosen it as you get used to the FC
