I think that was the model number. I saw this reel at BPS in Garland. It sells for $120, and it has 12 bearings. Normally, I would disregard the number of bearings, but it is a Daiwa. It looks like a Steez, with an aluminum frame instead of magnesium. Anyone have any experience with these reels? It felt pretty nice, and the spool spun quite freely.

I think you are talking about the Pro 100H made for Bass Pro. It looks like the Exceler but has 4 more bearings. I just bought one tonight and was wondering myself if anyone had any experience with them.

That's it. I'm wondering what they did to cut the price in half from comparable reels. Daiwa's own 153HST costs $40 more, and the 100H feels better in every way. It looks just like a Steez to me, except with an aluminum frame instead of magnesium.

I'm sure the 4 extra bearings are in the handle.

Let us know what you think. I was looking for something for casting a wacky worm. I've been using a spinning rod, but I want the control of a baitcast reel.

I'll put it this way. I have access to any Daiwa products direct from Daiwa. I have an association with them. I have to get these reels from BPS just like a regular customer and I own 8 of them if that tells you anything. I get no discount or freebies from BPS on these reels and pay the full price. These reels are excellent. I cannot say anything negative about them. They are improved over the Exceler. I use them primarily for moving baits and love them. They have held up exceptionally well and have gotten a ton of use. Still look new and performance has been excellent. Smooth reel, great castability and the drag handles big fish just fine. Finish is very durable as well. Great price too.

That's what I figured, since it was a Daiwa. I'm going to buy one today. Do they have more than one gear ratio?

Bass Art, on the reel box it says 11 ball bearings and 1 roller bearing. If you read the reviews on the Bass Pro and Cabelas web site, they are split almost down the middle with some having problems with them and some loving them. However, from the descriptions of the problems they were having I had the impression that they just got a hold of a defective reel. Problems like noises coming from the reel and one I know was operator error, he said the brake side plate separated from the reel when the cast control knob was screwed in. Well I knew immediately what that was caused from, so I loosened the thumb screw that holds the side plate on and tighten the cast control knob and sure enough a gap started to form between the side plate and the reel. Some people write bad reviews on items when it is their own ignorance that is causing the malfunction. I like the reel in the hand, and I think it will be one of my favorites. I will post a review when I get it out and play with it. Mark Perry sure likes his and I am looking forward to this one.

I actually posted a review here a while back. You can find it in a search. Like I said I pay full price for them because I really like the reels. They just have a good "feel" to them.

Thanks for the input Mark. I am looking forward to this one. Bought me a new Lowrider today to mount it on.
