Anyone know how to take off the handle? I think I just rotate it in the other direction but I don't want to force it and break it. Checking here before I breake it. I'm wanting to lube it up. It's making a whining noise when I cast. any suggestions?

Here’s how:
Tighten the Star Drag Down.
See the black ratchet on top of the star drag, Push it down.
While keeping the ratchet pushed down turn the handle counter clockwise little by little until the handle come off.

Yeah if it is whining on cast you should not have to take the handle side apart. The whining noise you are hearing is probably either the brakes or the bearings which you can access from the other side. Push the button located on the bottom of the level wind cover and the left side plate will twist off. Pull the spool out and use a light oil and 1-2 drops on each bearing you see and a very light coat on each of the plastic brakes you see on the side of the spool. Then take a q-tip and wipe out the brass colored race on the inside of the left side plate. This should help.
