First off, I dont think that we should just laugh it off when these guys ruin our time by being jacka*@#'s. This has become a huge problem on many lakes. Whats upsetting is that we fisherman pay for the upkeep of these lakes, while skiers/jet skiers do not share any of the financial burden. They just use, use, use, use; without having to give back anything. This is wrong and they should be obligated to not disturbing fisherman.

However, this will probably never happen. I like to fish Lake CC, and though it gets little fishing pressure, you do have to put up with the jet skiers. They are just out there to cause a comotion. Unfortunatly, their primary object is to blast up protected waters, shorelines, and coves; the same areas that we often fish. Many lakes have thousands of acres of unused open water, but they want to knive up preferred fishing areas. Sometimes I feel like they are trying to show off to me like I care.

I hate Jet Skiers.

PS Why was that area posted as a "keep out area" ???

I was once told that a sling shot with a 3/8 ball bearing hurts like hell even thru a life jacket.

you shoulda just walked down. and made a simple bet with the person that they couldnt do one of those high speed turns and come withing 6 inches of the dock smile Laya $20 down and tell them they can have it if they will grab it off the dock when doing a high speed turn smile Problem solved.. be ready to call the ambulance.

I though you couldn't be more than so many feet or yards from a dock? Inside the NO WAKE bouy?

I dont mean to be a dick, but it only ruined your time because you let it. You were able to get out on the lake thats nice in itself. And jet skiers, recreational boaters pay ramp fees as well as fishermen. You buy a fishing license so you feel you should have the right of way on the lake?

I agree that guy wasn't being smart but neither is the guy on a crouch rocket weaving in and out of traffic. Let them risk there life as long as he's not endangering someone else.

The sports are so different run and gun vs calm quite played on the same field. They are out there to have a good time just like all of us!

Disagree...anyone making that kind of wake in a no wake zone is causing a dangerous situation for others as well as themselves. That is right by the boat ramp so anyone trying to load/unload is having to deal with those wakes.

No everyone riding PWC are idiots but this on obviously either is completely clueless for marine regulations or just doesn't care. Either way he deserves a ticket/fine at the very least.

People doing stupid things, there's a news flash... Our only hope is that natural selection takes it's course and keeps them from breeding.

Wasn't just a year ago that Mr and Mrs dumbass decided to jump the spillway on lake lewisville?

If it's a Corps of Engineers lake there is a federal law against driving at more than idle speed within 50 feet of another vessel or any shore structure.

Excuse me, but I have a pleasure boat that we take out usually every weekend in the summer...I also have a pontoon boat that we take out in the summer and will be used for fishing...Now I pay registration fees every two years on both boats, I also bought the $30 yearly pass to get into the parks and I bought my fishing license...I pay for the use of the lake and I also have taken the water safety course...Now I know the jet skis have to be registered, and they pay the ramp fees if at a private or corps ramp...I agree that sometimes the operators on the jet skis aren't all that considerate, nor seemingly informed of the laws, but they do pay for the upkeep of the lakes...

Now I have personally seen a lot of people that are in bass boats on Whitney during the summer getting way too close to pleasure boats and the people they are pulling...So please don't act like fishermen are the end all, be all of water safety...

I was with I lake fork unamed guide once and he told us that once when they were on some jiggin spoon fish, then they see this loser guide coming extremely close to them. Well our guide says stand back, well about five seonds later he lauches the jiggin spoon. They other guy flys by and then the jiggin spoon hits the guy and breaks our guides line. thats the only time ive ever heard of it hitting and hooking someone. But on,lavon some drunk college kids were skieing by the dam. Then they decided to get really close to some fisherman, close enough the fisherman tied on crankbaits, and they both casted, one landed in the really noce ski boat and hooked the vinel the other barley missed the skier, bumber. then they drove by us and the skier fliped me off. then i used the trolling motor for fifty yards and added some " liqued fertilization" to his GOOD water.
