I went Friday Night, Poles in the water at 6:00pm till 3:00am.

I tried out my new skitterwalk but there were soooo many Finger mullet movin I could not get a bite.

I threw the cast net, caught the bait.

Caught a bunch of sand trout, a dogfish, a ribbon fish, and a small red. A fellow next to me caught a 2 1/2 stingray on cut bait. Another fellow got a nice Spanish Mack.

Oh yeah, It was windy when we got there but that died down at about 10:00pm and it got very still.

I also got to see this 5 year old little boy catch his first fish on his first cast! A nice size Croaker!

That is something he will remember and tell the story every chance he gets to old to remember!

Cool stuff...

Anyone ever fish next to the Coast on the Left side just as you enter the dike past that stop sign that I accidently almost run every time I go? I looks from arial shots like it gets deep fairly quick and maybe a good spot.

It was Dead on Friday Night. Caught 2 fish, one little spadefish and a sand trout, both caught in the cast net. Let them both go and headed out. Winds too strong.

Went to Galveston last night and tore them up in the canal lights. 4 reds 22-24", 15+ undersized specs, 10 good specs 17-20." They were biting hard, despite the inclement weather all week. Lucky for us, the weather held all night and didn't dump on us.

Nah, rarely fish the pier. I was fishing dock lights in the canals. Been 7 or 8 weeks straight, and caught good fish every time. Actually, the last 2 weeks or so, the fish have been getting bigger on average. Hopefully a taste of things to come in September.

Oh, and we were using artificials. Not necessary to use bait. We catch all we can handle on plastics. Just have to know the right bait and how to fish it.
