Hey straightshooter, don't you love how these guys treat the green horns? They see what we 're tagged as, but that's just from when we've signed up. I've been fishing all my life and could tell some of these guys a thing or two. Sorry if I spend more time actually fishing than running my mouth. Right?

If guys are handing out advice......

I fished HL&P discharge in Trinity Bay as a kid.

I recently bought my first boat and I take my 4 year old down to Port A, but all we catch is undersized fish (red drum, specs, big perch and hard heads) and a couple oversized red drum. Port A is a good drive from San Antonio (done it about 6 times) and to top it off I have yet to bring home any fish....... oh yeah .. and you shouldn't eat fish out if HL&P anymore because of the pesticides and other [censored] that has ruined that bay....

Anyways... some Port A advice would be very welcomed.

I have sure watched your post, hoping for a good response. Perhaps there is no one on here that fishes or gigs flounder a lot. I know I have caught a couple, but just happened up on them. I sure can't give advice. Seems someone told me they head out the channels in the fall. I've seen a lot of boats out at night with all those lights, but that doesn't really interest me, as I like to put my head on my pillow at night. Perhaps someone will come along and give some advice on where they gang up.

I definitely feel your pain when it comes to not getting the expected response. I often keep my eyes peeled for responses that give really good info, but am often disappointed by the "beat around the bush" replies, that ultimately end up with "my hotspot is Galveston Bay or the Gulf of Mexico."

But I can also see how if someone came in and said,"Flounder gang up right here at this spot...here are the GPS coordinates...", there will be a small marina at that spot.

I don't yet own any watercraft, but if someone said flounder will be ganging up right in this little cut or that little nook, etc, I would be on my way out there on an inner tube and a paddle.
