I hate to mention the company they've been great clients and we still do lots of business with them. Unfortunatly they had to close down one of their divisions. As it turns out their bad fortune will be somebody elses deal. At Moritz Chevrolet I assume? Man that's a heck of a deal! Yes at Moritz I should have mentioned that you can't miss us if you drive be we have plenty of RED....

Thanks Monte! What's your take on the pros and cons of the iron vs aluminum block 5.3's, esp here in the Texas heat?

Yes, my younger brother just passed his '01 GMC with 237,000 miles to his son. He's currently driving it daily throughout the Houston/Clear Lake area. Other than a cracked windshield, that '01 has been practically bulletproof! GM has really improved their drivetrain over the years, esp the transmissions, which in the early to late 90's were somewhat prone to pre-mature failure. Thanks for digging into the aluminum vs iron block debate. Some think the aluminum block dissipates heat a little better, though perhaps of little consequence.

I would love to get one but cant afford it right now.
I think you will find that most of the trans failure in 90's model chevys was due to improper maintenance and use. You are supposed to change the fluid every 25000 miles and never pull in o/d. I know very few people change the fluid and fitler on them ever, more or less every 25K.

matt I must have got lucky, cus I had a 99 and I changed the trany fluid once and kept the filter, pulled my boat in o/d and it had 170,000 before someone hit me and totaled it.

Thats great man. I pull in o/d with mine too, boat is only 2500 lbs, and change fluid ever 25 to 30K. Mine is a 94 with 240000 miles so I hope it keeps goin. I just hate to here them gettin a bad name when it is really misuse and neglected service that causes the problem. My roomates is just like yours, he has 189000 on a '96 model that has had literaly nothing done but one tune up and the oil changed and it still runs.

Does the crew cab have vinyl floor (no carpet)?
These do not have z-71 package, correct?
I just got a deal in the mail for $2,000 off. Could I use that on this deal?
Any special interest rates available on these deals?
Thanks!

My '98 Tahoe LT 4x4 only has 91,000 and is still running strong, tranny et al. I subscribe to the theory that vehicle longevity is directly related to regular service of ALL fluids! (tranny, radiator, all diff fluids, engine oil, brake fluid, etc) Would I like a new '08 Tahoe or truck? Sure! Do I need 36 mos of new vehicle payments? No! But for those that NEED a new vehicle, now is certainly a great time to buy!

Thanks! Yes most of the Crews have vinyl floors but we can add carpet for an additional charge. They are 4X4s not Z71s. I would need you to call me with the certificate number so I can check for compatibility. You can give up $2,000.00 of the $5,000.00 rebate and get 2.9% for 60 months. I have 6 Ex Cabs left 3 have the free bed liners one has carpet. There are 6 or 7 Crew Cabs with the free liners still available. We still have a lot of these trucks on the way from the factory the ones that are coming will not have the free extras.
