I've done it in the same day, and again a week later.. Dumbest fish I have ever caught. Not that I'm complaining, I was out deep fishing a C-rig.. French Fry / Sour Grape. It had a spot on it's nose and lot of holes in it's mouth.. Not hard to miss.

I pulled the same fish off a bed 4 times in one day. Figured I would leave her alone after that I didn't want to kill her.
Caught her once more time the next day. Never bothered her again. She was there for at least 4 days that I knew of.

last year during the BBF Tournament on lake fork I cought a 5lber on a drop off in 8 foot of water. I put her back in the water and was fixing my worm and my partner in the back of the boat casted on the same drop and he cought her again all this happened in about 3 to 5 minutes. She didn't fight as hard the second time. There was a guy fishing that seen the whole thing and told us that it could be a late spawner. The fish did have eggs.

I was fishing Cooper one time and stuck a fish on a 4" power worm and broke it off! Came back an hour later and caught that same fish off the same stump and it still had my hook and 4" power worm in its mouth! Think that was in September too!

Last fall I was fishing a 2 acre pond and hung a fish. I broke the line just before I got it in but about 30 minutes and 10 fish later I pulled one in that when I went to take the hook out there was my line hanging out of its mouth about 4 ft of it. It had swallowed the worm by now so I cut off the line as deep as I could and went back to fishing about an hour later I cought a fish that had a bloody spot on its nose from my lst hookup and yep after I checked its throat ther was that line again.

My dad did it at Ray Roberts last fall, once on a fluke and on a crank the second time. In the same general area both times.

My pardner and I caught the same catfish twice in one tournament on Ray Hubbard. Once on a crank and again on a worm.

Spawning time I have caught the same bass a bunch.

On Fairfield I had the same one eye blind bass four times.

Back in the mid 90's I was on Ray Roberts with my wife-at-the-time. She caught a fish on a white sluggo. After the typical hootin' and hollerin' and doin' her little jig she was ready to release the bass. She kneeled down and gently released it then held the white sluggo over the water, shaking it at the bass and said "you sure liked that, didn't you"?

No sooner did she have the words out than the bass shot out of the water and took the sluggo out of her hands. It actually hooked itself a 2nd time.

Crazy.....

Nine or ten years ago when we were living in Graham, I used to fish a lot at night at Possum Kingdom, usually in preparation for the full moon tournaments. I took a friend of mine fishing on a Sunday night and caught a 7#er on a white crankbait near a dock light. The very next Wednesday I went out and caught her again on the same crankbait. And then during the full moon tournament, after 11 casts in the same area I'd caught her before, she hit it again and I got big bass as well as big stringer the next morning. That was one stupid bass...thankfully grin .

When I was a young man I caught a 5 pound bass and put him on a stringer. Drug him around and felt bad about it and let him go. I caught him again after lunch. I now it was him because he still had the bloody hole in his jaw from the stringer and the hook set. I filleted it after the second time just for being stupid.

I was fishing the sunday tournament on lewisville last month and i caught a nice fish but i hooked it deep so i cut my line and weighed it in. I fished the same tournament the next week and caught the same fish right by the tower bay boat ramp where i had released her. Still had my hook in her. Weighted her in at two tournys.

In July I was fising with a friend at Falcon. My line / braid broke on the hook set and I was pissed. The next morning, fishing the same spot my partner landed a five lb fish that had my bait, hook and line still in its mouth!

Hooked a fish and fought it halfway to the boat before it got off, Brush Hog was not on the hook when I got the hook back to the boat. After re-rigging a new bait, I cast right back to the same spot and got bit again. When I lifted the fish into the boat, my Brush Hog fell out of its mouth. I realized it was the exact same fish I had just lost when I found the new bait still threaded onto the hook.

My partner caught a 6 pd on Amistad one spring off a fence line.
Went back the following spring and caught the same fish off the same fence post. We could tell cause she was blind in one eye

A few years back, I caught the same bass ( slot fish, 20 inches, with a distinct black spot on her left side) in the same location (small tank dam) three times in a three week period. The first two were prespawn, and the last was on her way back out!
