Take a look at the Power Tackle line of rods. They have a great selection and are built in Texas. They are designed by one of the most creative minds in the tackle industry, Tim Reneau. The can be found at Power Tackle.com.

I got a Lowrider last year at Academy for a good price. It is a great rod. If the Cara is that noticeably better, I would be a little surprised...the T7 Cara is awful expensive to me. But if it is a lot better, and you can afford it, go for it. I have the Falcon Lowrider Lizard Draggin rod and I love it...very light, great rod.

the new t7s are heads and shoulders over any cara or lowrider they have ever made. i think they are upping the price tho. this years t7s are awesome too. just remember you get what you pay for. if you want a rod for a specific technique you will be using alot the extra 50 bucks is well worth it
