I would like to take a minute to thank a couple of people that made for one memorable week for a couple of Navy guys.
Me and a buddy recently headed from Lubbock and Florida to north-central Texas to catch up on old times and catch some fish.
Royce Simmons of Gone Fishin' guide services took us out on Aug 11th at Richland Chambers. I've only heard good things about this lake and let me tell you it didn't disappoint. Royce really knew his stuff and had us on fish all morning. It couldn't have been a better day. At first we thought we might get rained on pretty good, but it just clouded over really nice and made for beautiful weather. We had to of caught 200+ whites and kept our limit of 50. My buddy even caught a pretty nice blue cat slabbing. Then for the grand finale we caught a few Hybrids on our way in.
Later on that week we headed up to the Dallas area to fish Ray Hubbard with Matt Cartwright of Matt's Guide Service. Matt had just got a new boat and had invited us out for one her first fishing trips. Of course we agreed to do so with smiles on our face from ear to ear. We had a big blue bird overhead and the fishing was rough. We caught several early that morning and had a great time. Later on we did a lot of playing around having fun with Matt's new toy. Matt has to be one of the coolest guys I've met. I'm so glad we got to spend a day fishing with him. We also saw Omar from Luck o the Irish guide services and Matt had nothing but nice things to say about him too. I'll defiantly be keeping Matt's number in my quick dial.
We were supposed to go out with Terry of Creators Guide Service on Eagle Mountain Lake. I was really really looking forward to going out and getting to pick Brother Terry's brain on his secrets to catfishing. However by the end of the week I had started to get really bad physically speaking. If I thought I could have made it we would have been out with Brother Terry in a heart beat. I can't say enough nice things about him. I'm going to be going back down there soon enough and you can bet were going out.
I'll post some of the pics from our trip. I might have a few more nice ones coming and I'll post em when I do. Once again thanks to everyone who invited us out. I look forward to meeting A LOT more TFF's.
well Ill post pictures as soon as I figure out how. Do you have to hotlink them from a photohost or is there a way to upload them directly to the site?
