Yup, you need to fish some timber and there is a lot of timber in that lake. Seems like right now minnows are working better than jigs in anywhere from 18 to 25 feet. Look for isolated trees or large trees just under the surface that have several large sprawling branches.

Also there are many large brushpiles in that lake as well that the Army Corps of Engineers built. Some guys on here have their coordinates and I am sure they will send them to you if you have a GPS. Or you can probably find a map somewhere or a website that shows you where they are.

Good luck!

Launch at Buck Creek ramp and fish the tree's, they are everywhere...Just find the appropriate depth...One bridge out of the creek and to the right can hold some fish...

Or Launch at the Pecan creek ramp on the west arm and fish both 3002 bridges, one by the ramp and the other is not far and to the right back down the lake and to the right...The bridges can be great...The Corp BP's are down the arm from the 2nd bridge...You can identify the general area of the BP's by the boats fishing all over them...

Great lake and I have caught a bunch of fish on it...Good luck

Buck Creek has been producing better fish than Pecan Creek. If you get a Martins map for the BP's some of the coordinates are a little off. Just troll around the area and you will pick them up on your depth finder. Minnows have been working for me.

Forkfish
Went to the bridge by Pecan Creek yesterday and it was horrible. I caught about 6 Crappie in 3 hours and all were under 7"'s. Some other guys did not catch a single Crappie. I will probably stick to the brush piles on Sat.

Went out to Wolf Island (south side) last night and brought home about a dozen crappie keepers including a couple of 14 inchers. Lot's of sandies and cats too. We ended up with 18 sandies, 10 crappies and three kitties. Threw back many more. Anywhere near the stumps on Wolf Island at night or early morning seems to be the trick.
