the eye with a baseball bat, Bunches of stitches , eye patch
for a month. Sorry no video , happened about 1960. Still have
the scar. smile

I was fishing with my son when he was about 8. He was holding a rod with a Rattle trap on it. He bent over to pick something up in the boat just as the Trap swung back toward him and the big tail hook went up under his eyelid. I cut the line, had him hold the Trap against his face and tore across the lake. I ran the boat up on the shore and was helping him out of the boat when the hook fell out from beneath his eyelid. He's 30 now and that's just one of the many ways he insured that I have white hair at this point in my life.

Why didn't he cut the other hooks off first so he would not hook himself again? That had to hurt.

I don't know why I had to watch that for a second time...That is just sick!! I had a cat jab me real deep into my hand once. It scared me how hard I had to pull to get it out. I cannot imagine what that hook had to feel like pushing through the other side. Isn't there a time when backing the hook out is the best option?

I have seen that video before, and it is a killer to watch. I saw it AFTER my little experience, and man I felt sorry for that dude. I cannot imagine having it near the eye. You need to wear glasses when you fish!!!
