It has been raining a lot in East Dallas lately. Does anyone know if the Tawakoni Spillway is overflowing or not? Maybe it is time to visit the Spillway again. Thanks.

I hope they release water. That spillway is a wasteland right now.

Fished the spillway last night. No water running what so ever. Still the same old water all those millions of stripers died in. Caught 12 catfish, 4 had nasty looking yellow bubbles all over thier skin.

i was at duck cove marina a couple days ago and saw the same thing on a few of the catfish.... some kind of infection. but we caught a lot of cats. about 25-30 cats and 6 stripers and tons of sandies. we set up a 2 million candel power light from home depot at the end of the dock. there is an outlet there that we plug it into and shine it in the water and all the shad come into the light and the fish follow them. works every single time.

I know exactly where this marina is. We fish there twice in the winter this year for crappies. Never though to plug in bright lights there. Need to try that one of this day.

You won't get in trouble with the owner for plugging in the light?

here is a pic rom Duck Cove a few days ago........ Nice Smallmouth Buffalo ! From the look on your face it was a good fight Man BIG—15+ lbs Buffalo are excellent fighter. They will definitely wear you out. And, there are tons of them in the Spillway. There are so many and moving sooooo slow on the bottom...many people accidentally snagged them when they retrieve their hook. I snagged two BIGUNs before, and thought they were BIG Giant 500 lbs catfish from Thailand. Because they would not come to surface for a long time. And, it is hard to pull on them because most of the time I am running an 8 lbs tests line. They will run and run and run. It does get your heart pumping with excitement. I said it is one of the best fighting fish in a lake.
