Grapevine, Bridgeport, Ray Roberts all have good populations of bass.

You might try to look for someone that has some smaller private lakes/tanks...there are tons of them up there and good places to fish kids.

Try Cooper lake put in at johns creek and go slow down the boat lanes and watch for any schooling on top pitch anything shiny at em and try fishing right at the end of the lane as you enter the main lake along the poles and treeline watch your depthfinder for the channel there too. You can also troll or jig for some hybrids and let him fight some. There are some big bass in that lake I have seen trophy fish out of there.

The biggest and the most bass I have ever caught in my life was in the mini-lakes that are scattered through out Circle T Ranch in Westlake, I fished them all the time befor Perot Jr. bought the place. Now they are in the middle of the golf coarse. If you know anyone that lives in Vaquero Ranch tell them to take you fishing, you will never forget it! I bet half the people living there have no clue the quality of fish that is those tanks.

Bob Sandlin is a good choice for the sandies from what i hear my boss hits it about once a month. The fish are schooling some in the evenings on Bonham right now. If you can catch them at the right time its good. I havent been to cooper this year for bass but last year about this time it was good were i said above. I was just throwing out some close lakes. There are a few private lakes that are close too that charge by the person but you can have a blast for what fuel to drive to Fork would cost i bet.

Lakes Davy Crockett and Coffee Mill are not too far from you, on Hwy 100 north of Honey Grove, and they both have plenty bass and loads of bluegill.

Lake Fork without a doubt, just get around the grass with the kids and have them fish small baits or live bait.

If you are located in Paris you should try out Pat Mayse Lake. It is just north of Paris and is a pretty neat little lake.

I'll second Pat Mayes. I have always caught fish there. Buddy caught a 10#er about four years ago. Lots of 4 to 6 pound fish.

I would have to agree. Pat Mayes is a very good little Bass lake and also has a good population of Sandies and Hybrids.
