Headed to Texoma thrusday afternoon and friday morning to try the stripers. Any pointers on where would be a good place to start at and type of baits to use.

Thanks for any info.

Get yourself some of Bryons TNT slabs and a few top water plugs and go find em.. they are all over the lake.

Live shad is producing tons of good fish as well if ya wanna catch em.

anywhere from the dam all the way to the car bridge you'll likely find fish surfacing throughout the day

Man, I sure wished it went that easy for me last Sunday afternoon. But, I'm still learning.

I'm going to assume that throwing sassy shad or rattletraps will work as well on the surfacing fish? Was going to go earlier this week and it got put off. Looks like I'm taking the dad-in-law tomorrow as long as the weather cooperates.

(scattered t-storms are ok as long as they're scattered away from me)

I have fished by the dam 3 times in the 4 days...and it only produced once for us....

Fish are not working too good...

Also, Sat. there was a herd of boats that made fishin' topwater fish almost impossible...

Last night it only took one guy to run around enough to screw stuff up!

(BTW...thanks to the 2 guys in the aluminum boat for yelling at him to STOP running down the fish!) That was priceless! smile

Thanks everyone for the information. I hope to be on the water by noon tomorrow.
Sandman I won't be on the water Saturday or Sunday. If i were I would give you a hollar. If you have access to a computer Friday afternoon/night, I will post how I do once I get back to the house.

Well, got back a little while ago from Texoma ... first time I've had my boat there (previous trips were with a guide).

Tons of fish boiling around the dam from 80ft of water all the way to the shoreline. Turned out they were dinks, and that I couldn't seem to find anything in my boat they would hit ... finally got them to take a tiny torpedo on the surface.

Had stormclouds around & could hear thunder, so I didn't want to venture elsewhere on the lake ... stayed close to the dam & ramp area so I could retreat fast if needed. Still fun to catch little stripers & they got let loose after a visit in the livewell.

Maybe next week ...

didn't have much luck on thursday afternoon. just caught a couple. the ones by the dam were dinks. sure looked good with all of them surfacing but just small ones. this morning started kind of slow. set through the rain showers and then finallyh found the finish. outside little mineral from the point all the way back down to the pump house. we would find a good group surfacing, catch a few, and then this one other boat would come right into them and they would go down. we would go looking and find them again and then here came the boat. we did end the day about 2 with our two man limit. seemed to be best before the sun came out. caught them on both top waters and chartruse cohoes about 3" one jug heads.
