i'm getting a motorcycle pretty soon, and me, my dad, best friend, and his dad are going to take a week or so trip on the bikes. we were thinking of arkansas, heading up in the mountains and doing a little fishing while there. it's going to be at the end of sept. you guys got any suggestions?

Hay Yam,
Consider the Texas Hill Country.
Swingin through Bryan, Austin, Fredericksburg and up to Junction. Riding the roads around that area is a great time.

From Junction take 377 toward Rocksprings, then take State 335 down to Barksdale. This stretch will, shall we say, hone your motorcycle driving skills very quickly. lol

Don't forget to take in the roads around Vanderpool, Leaky, Camp Wood and Concan and the mountain ride west of Camp Wood is great, as well.

From Junction, it's about two hours to a little 'ol fishin hole called Amistad.

nut, thanks for the suggestion, but i work about 40 miles from bryan, and i'm kind of sick of the scenery here, lol. i like the amistad idea, but want to fish it out of a boat, and it's kind of hard to pull a boat on a bike, grin.

Yam,
Stay with Carl, at Angler's Lodge.

Mr.JC Gwynne will help you catch bass out of a boat, so's you can leave yer trailer hitch at home. lol

Or there's some good river fishing on the Rio Frio down by Concan.

My wife's uncle rode it a few years ago and said it was a great ride. I think the maximum speed limit is 55, great for cruising.

What kind of bike are you getting?

either a velusia, marauder, or vulcan 800 i think. the guy i work with is going to buy me a bike for ~3000 to put a septic system in for him. he just leased his mineral rights on 240 acres and bought some land and a house, and he knew dad and my friend and his dad got a bike. he made that offer, and i couldnt pass it up.

All good bikes. A buddy of mine just got an 800 Suzuki nice little bike to ride. That would be a tough decision to choose between those, I'd probably lean more toward either the velusia or the vulcan, I like the lower long look.
