Fished the Corpus Christi Law Enforcement Tournament this weekend and man did i make out like a bandit...Fri. night was meet n greet, bought 3 raffle tickets and was getting shut out...told the guys lets take off to beat the crowds and on the way to the p-lot, they call my ticket #...i won a 14ft Heritage redfish kayak, with pfd, paddle, and a castaway rod...awesome!!!woke up at 4 on saturday for the tournament and headed out of Bird island about 530 to "Jon's Reef"...got 2 the fishing spot bout 6 and within 15 minutes i was out of commission 4 a bit...my sarge set his hook bigger than Dallas, it flew back and 2 hooks from hihs treble went in my calf past the barb...had to Cowboy Up and force it through to break it...sorry, no pics...after that the fun was on...we drifted a dropoff, up on a flat, then to the reef...step dad caught 16 in speck n very next cast an 18 blk drum...i ended up catching 4 specks to 23 1/2in, 2 blk drums 20in n 24 1/2in, 3reds 23in, 26 1/2in, n 30in... we were fishing with alameda rattling floats with live shrimp...this reef is just b4 u get to the mouth of Baffin southeast of the intercoastal...ended up winning 2nd place in the trifecta "grandslam" category and came home $500 richer...awesome trip for me

Sounds like a good weekend, minus your calf. I would take that hooks in my calf for 500 bucks and a 1000 dollar kayak, plus some extra goodies!
