I live in Teague which is about 8 miles W of Fairfield. I got right at 4 inches today between 3 and 10pm. Just the kind of heavy runoff rain FF needs. It won't fill it up, but it might have brought it up a foot or so if it came down like that in the right places over there.
My source at the park office said it was just about to get out of hand over there before this rain.
Lets hope we get some more soon!

EW

Great now that would make it about 2.5 feet at the loading dock.

Slab, why was it going to get out of hand?

Water was about to get too low to get any kind of trailered boat in the lake...that's what he was meaning. When it gets that low a 14-16 foot jon boat in the bed of a pick-up truck with a 9.9 gas motor would be the ticket.

Keep us updated on the rain and if it helps. I have been wanting to go down there but I was not wanting to get the boat down there and mess it up. I was hoping it would rain alot down there. Steve

Got another 2 3/4 inches between 10pm last night and 3pm today. That's just under 7 inches in 24 hours. From my past experience with FF, I'm guessing that will bring it up around 1.5-2.0 feet. That should help a little at least for launching. As for the fishing...ask JackieBlue. smile

Is there a place to see the lake level for Fairfield? It is not on any of the lake level sites I have found? Thanks Steve

It's not on the normal lake level sites, but you can call the park office and they'll have a close estimate. I'll call my buddy that works there and ask him tonight. They got most of the same rain I got here at the house, so there's no doubt it has come up quite a bit.
Our are here around Fairfield just hasn't gotten most of the other rains others have seen this summer. We are way behind on our yearly total.

Thanks for the report Dobbin, I was going to go out today but I ran behind and I am waiting for the weekend.

Two foot is not bad but still not good for the bigger boats but we'll live...

Thanks

yes the tires of the trailer were on the edge of the dropoff at the ramp. we did not haft to push the boat off as we have had to.
just start like you were fishing for bass and you will catch the reds this time of year. that is how we started catching them. pay attentiton to what when and where you catch them as they will move around just like any other fish in the lake.

Yes.
The lake is up exactly five inches. That is what the people at the TXU plant said.
