Dude...are you using wire leaders??????? Why?
I guess because I got tired of having to retie my line after each fish event he little ones burr up the line when they get hooked past the lips.
It may be over kill but I rather do that than to loose a fish with a hook in its mouth.
Anyway, last night was good three of us kept three limits of fish and they brought home a mess of tilapia.
I tried something different last night... Once I got to the area I wanted to fish I got off the boat and walked along the shore as the water is only 1-1.5 feet deep I then walked to the edge of the drop off and walked back and casted past the drop and bounced a power shrimp on a 1/2 ounce Blind Baby and went to town on the reds. I also noticed I caught better fish and only one rat. I also succeeded not deep hooking any and caught 9 reds in a stretch of shoreline about 15 yards long in about 1.5 hours. I must admit it reminded me of the days in South Texas when we fished the flats for reds.
Now I still had two lines out on the boat but after having to run back twice I pulled those in and concentrated on the bank fishing.
Man, I gotta tell you I am glad I waited for those Curados to go on sale for 60.00 dalla, I ended up with 2 a 200 and a 300, I liked it but I am selling it E-Bay. I guess I am just a cheap person and I will stick to the ABU's
I will post photos later as I have to work on some stuff here at school.
The ramp is still dangerously low... Gotta love the Gou with its little engine all I need is a foot of water and I will be fine.
