What do you seem to catch the most bream on? Me personally seem to catch a lot on accident when throwing a small spinner along the banks looking for bass.

Small jigs, 1/32 or 1/64, or Trout Magnets.

I know you said lure but its hard to beat a 1/64oz jig tipped with a live cricket. But if I had to choose just one lure it would have to be a small in line spinner.

I tied up some Yellow Submarine flies Sunday morning. I caught two dozen that morning and a banker's dozen (that is eleven) yester-evening. I caught another dozen this evening.
The Yellow Submarine is just a yellow version of the Green Weenie. I watched a video of the Green Weenie Saturday, but thought the name was Green MEANIE Sunday morning.
The niblets liked it so much that they bit the chenille fibers off the tail. That fly is now retired and living in the mouth of the skeleton fish on my new G Loomis cap.
BTW, be sure to include the word FLY on any Green Meanie google searches, especially if children are present.

Ask anyone who's done the "deep night" bluegill blitz with me in the summer: TriColor MicroTube Jigs, from Academy(20 for a dollar!) on a 1/32 nd oz UNPAINTED jig head! It'll outfish anything you got!

I have a few packs of the TriColors from Academy. They definitely catch fish. The only problem is that they, like me, tend to suffer from male pattern baldness. I don't know how many of them have lost that third color cap after several fish.
Then again, at 20 for a dollar, how can I complain?

Are you tossing a 1/32 ounce jig on a fly pole? Or with a weighted bobber with ultralight rod?

I toss the tube jigs with an UL rod, but I don't use a bobber.

The extra weight from the tube is all you need.
I've noticed a big difference between tossing 1/32 oz tied jig versus a 1/32 oz jig with a tube. The tubes cast at least 30% farther. The only way to get that distance with a tied jig is to attach it to a spinner rig.
Then again, a spinner rigged jig is a fine bream lure too.

OK, what distance can you expect tossing a 1/32nd ounce jig on 6# line and ultralight rig?

I caught a nice greenie once on a mini king. Other times I've seen wee-tiny niblets running from one.
I've been wanting to try the 1/16oz micro king, but have been having too much fun with spinner rigged jigs, tube jigs, and lately the 2wt fly rod.

Hey Grandpa,
For extra distance, try using Gamma Co-Polymer 4# line rather than 6#. I've been using it for a while and the bass breakoffs have been reduced. It is the size of standard 4#, but has a break strength of 8.5#. And it is only $8.95 for 330yds.

Considering the majority of bites occur very near the bank, distance is of minor import when catching 'gills from the bank! But, since you asked, with the rig i have, i can, when needed get some very good distance on a cast, although i am terrible when it comes to guestimating distances. It is more than adequate to catch fish though, i can, with 100 percent certainty, tell you that! LOL

OK, what distance can you expect tossing a 1/32nd ounce jig on 6# line and ultralight rig? Im running 8# test with 1/32 oz jighead, I get 20-25 yds. I never cast that far, but it can
