LoneStar Carp Brigade 2008 Tournament Trail
RULES: These Rules apply to all entrants of this tournament. Violation of any of these rules will warrant appropriate disciplinary action. Any protest must be received in writing within fifteen minutes of final weigh-in. Tournament Director's decisions will be final in all matters.
State, Federal, and Local Laws must be obeyed.
Courtesy, sportsmanship and conservation must be displayed at all times by contestants. Any fish poorly treated will NOT be recorded and can lead to disqualification.
Any fish safe bait allowed. Any baiting method is allowed including boats.
Only 3 rods/reels are allowed per person not including spod or marker rods without hooks. Only one single hook allowed per rod. No trebles!
Foul hooked fish will not count; Hook must be within one inch from the mouth area.
Fishing is allowed from drawn peg location only. Fishing is only allowed from the shore, no fishing from boats or docks.
At no time is anyone allowed to touch other participant's rod or line while a fish is in play including initial hook set. Anyone can aid in netting a fish or baiting.
Only Cyprinus Carpio will count toward total weight. Side pots for other species may be entered as angler’s option.
The carp has to be weighed by a witness, and related information reported on the scorecard. Neighbor participant or stewards can act as witness.
Fish safe nets, landing mats/weigh sling and scale are required. If a participant does not own one, they can make arrangements with other participants to use theirs. Any arrangement must be made BEFORE start time.
Off limits period for the lake for fishing, scouting, locating any fish, including shoreline spotting will begin 24 hours before a tournament. No exceptions.
All fish must be caught in a legal and sporting manner during tournament hours from tournament waters. Any fish hooked before closing time must be landed within 15 minutes of tournament end time to be scored.
Upon entering this fishing tournament, contestants release LoneStar Carp officials and sponsors from liability of accidents, losses or injuries.
Yearly Standings will be determined by a cumulative weight of Cyprinus Carpio caught throughout the tournament trail.
Schedule
Date / Location / Time September 20th 2008 / Lake Granbury Hunter Park / 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
October 25th 2008 / White Rock Lake / 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

January 17th 2009 / To be Determined / 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
February 21st 2009 / Emma Long Park Austin, Tx / 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Entry fee per contestant will be $25. Big fish pots for Carp, Buffalo, and Mirror/Koi may be entered for $5 each at angler’s discretion.
Total pay out will be at least 90 percent of take and is to be distributed as follows:
Total field less than 10 anglers: 1st place total weight – 90%
Total field 10 – 19 anglers: 1st place total weight – 60% 2nd place total weight – 30%
Total field over 20 anglers: 1st place total weight – 55% 2nd place total weight – 25% 3rd place total weight – 15%
Money held back from take to be placed in fund toward purchase of Tournament Trail Awards.
I must point out that the rules listed above are barrowed from the original 2006 LSCB tourney trial with only slight modifications. Thanks guys for the initial work on these.
I encourage everyone to plan to attend all the events you can. These little tourneys are great educational events and fun for beginers as well as seasoned carp anglers.
I will submit each of these to MLC requesting that they be sanctioned MLC events, counting for points providing we have at least 10 participants in each tourney.

For someone who doesnt get out of Houston much can we have the closest City added to those lakes listed above? I want to go to more than one of these tournaments and bring some of these other houston Carpers with me.

All the DFW Carpers I talk to want a Houston event pretty badly- We really just need a venue with enough Bank Space and Action to support an event like this. Problem is, we just don't get down there enough. Any H-Town Carpers have a venue they'd like to suggest? Chad

Chris, I'll go ahead and say that we will not be holding Janurary's LSCB tournament trail event at those boat slips.
It'd be very cool if you held a stand alone tourney there though.

Chad San Jacinto River Lots of bank space and tons of fish, might want to make it a carp and buff tourney.

Brewboy,
The Granbury tournament hours say 7PM to 7AM, while the others are 7AM to 7PM; is that correct? It's an overnighter?

I won't speak for Scott, but I'm betting that's right.
Last time we had a tournament out at GB, it was a night tournament as well to avoid the heat, and everyone hauled.

Yes, Granbury will be an overnighter. Free night stay at Hunters park on lake Granbury. The water is shallow and the fishing is better from this swim at night especally during hot weather.
Oct through Feb are day tourneys due to the cooler temps in those months and fishing locations.

That's right, just sign up when you arrive and pay the entry fee. Peg draw is about 30 minutes before start time except in the case of Emma when we will draw at start time.

Question about Granbury... it is a Saturday night tourney. Do you think there will be a problem with getting spots since there are bound to be people camping there? Didn't we do that lake on a friday night last time?

Gents Just a reminder that to qualify for the MLC Angler of the Year prize list and Carp King Crown you need to be registered with us prior to the start of the event. Looking forward to following this series when I'm snowed in up here...Good luck all! http://majorleaguecarp.com/Leader_Board.html

Thanks Chris, Steve called me (you remember him from CAGI) and reported that he would be there plus 1. Should be a good turn-out and a great time!

So... How did it go at Granbury? I was waiting for Scott T to make a post with the rankings but I can tell you Keven won total weight with like 40 something pounds and Ron won 2nd. Luke got big buff side pot and Scott T got the big fish side pot. I came in 7th with only 3 fish caught. I lost a lot of fish to snags
