After mowing the yard this morning in the heat I decided about 4:00 to go to the lake. I fished standing timber in 15-18' and could not catch a fish, moved out to 20-25'on hard woods and ended up catching my limit. I had 3 that would go over a 1 1/2 lb. and most of the fish were about 18' deep. I caught all my fish on White & Chartreuse, Rocky Top medium size jigs...I used 2 jig bodies all day. I finally found a tree that had 6 good keepers in it and most of the other trees I only caught one or two. Fishing is still good but it sure is hot but as long as your catching fish it's fun though!

After mowing the yard this morning in the heat I decided about 4:00 to go to the lake.

Glad to know there's something other than fish that you can do....(LOL)

Excellent report and appreciated. Try any brush piles at all too, or just trees?

Just trees no brush piles. I fished two cedar trees and caught a couple of fish out of them but most of them were big hardwoods and stumps. You know me I don't like to fish brush piles unless I have to, I'm more of a tree man.

Jordan ramp west right out of Pilot Point will get ya in the trees quick. Or, put in a Pecan Creek off 3002(on the east side of the second bridge), then just go south down the main lake and around Wolf Island.

Think Buck Creek has a ramp too, though never been there. We mainly just pull into the north ramp across from RayBob Marina(E of Sanger), then just go across the lake.

Good luck...
