Anyone fish it recently? I havent been in over a month, wondering if anyone has some recent tips on this local hole. Last time I was there the small fish were schooling and I caught several dinks in shallow cover on finesse worms. Anyone doing anything different out there?

I was out there this past weekend and caugh a few small ones on a worm up in the creek. My brother in law is just getting into fishing and wanted to learn how to fish plastics, i figured that was a good place to start. We are planning a trip to choke in sept, cant wait to go. Anyone else do any good at Boerne?

I sure havent. Last time I was there I shorted something in the trolling motor running it on high all the way back from the creek. Needless to say, even if you are stranded, they STILL dont want you starting the big engine.

In fact, I really dont think they want bass boats out there at all. At least thats the attitude I get from the people out there and the law around the area. Guess I'll stick to Choke and Falcon!

I actuall caught my biggest bass there up until this year. It was about 7 pounds, caught from the bank and actually when i first started fishing plastics. So they have to be in there but back then the lake had alot more grass close to the shore but dont know how it is now cause I havent gone there in about 1 1/2 years.

try fishing the hump out in the middle of the lake with a crank bait or a c rig. with a watermelon seed or watermelon red 6" lizzard. it works for me most of the time.

I will have to look for a hump in the middle, havent seen that on my dept finder. Gotta catch a big one without cheating one of these days. I kinda happened upon one that went about 7-8 (according to my dad after he saw the pics) that was splashing on the surface near the dam, as I trolled closer to it I saw that it had a bluegill wedged in its mouth. I was able to lip it, pull out the bluegill and after a couple of pics she swam away. Waiting for the day that she returns the favor and let me catch/release her for a second time.

There is some good deepwater structure that should hold fish on that lake, the problem is, you have to get there awful early or the couple of good spots are covered up with swimmers from the bank.

There is some mossy type grass on the bottom througout most of the lake, but nothing substantial anymore that would hold fish.

There is also some good flooded cover up the creek but I've never caught a thing up there.

That seems to be where I have caught a few is between the flooded trees and up to the couple of boat docks, have caught a couple farther up but not much. Did see someone with a yak catch a nice catfish last weekend up there, although he did cut us off twice as we were working that bank.

Anyone else been out to Boerne lately? Caught a couple small ones on Sunday, one up in the river and two by the dam.

And heads up to anyone thinking about going fishing on 9/13, the ramp will be closed due to a triathlon.
