I picked up a BPS Pro Qualifier Ltd. rod/reel combo today at BPS in Garland and was wondering if anyone else has tried this out before. It seemed like a good deal going for $99, because the rod itself cost $129 (not sure how much the reel cost). It's a baitcaster and has 10BB. I was looking at the previous version and it had 7 stainless steel BB, so I'm guessing these are also made of the same thing. I haven't used BPS equipment that much, but the rod feels super sensitive and the reel feels great with smooth drag.

Here are some specs:

Rod:
- IM-8
-7' MH

Reel:
-10 BB
-Clicking drag
-6.3:1 Ratio

Let me know what you guys think! Thanks.

I bet it won't be a bad deal as Bass Pro will exchange it if it goes bad. Can't expect a whole lot for that price anyway

that doesn't sound like the regular pro qualifier rod, sounds more in line with a Bionic Blade.

$129 still sounds like a good deal for the combo.

The combo was actually $99. I'm guessing since it says Limited on the rod/reel, it's discontinued. Either way, BPS always take stuff back without hesitation. I'm gonna give it a real test run at Tawakoni next week. We'll see how the catfish hold up. Thanks for the input.

I own 4 of the Pro Qualifiers and can't say enough good things about them. I have never had any problems with them. They cast farther than they did when I bought them and are still very smooth. You can't go wrong with this purchase.

yeah, good deal there - i have several of those reels

the only problem is if you have problems - no warranty after one year and getting them fixed can be a little harder than other models

I think you got fooled into thinking you were getting the real Pro Qualifier rod. I don't think the rod you got in your combo is of anywhere near the quality of the Pro Q. I have 3 of them and love them.

There is a difference between the Pro Qualifier and the Pro Qualifier Ltd. The Ltd. i believe is $20 or $30 by itself. The regular Pro Qualifier is the $129 one, which is a very good rod. Its not a bad setup, but there are better things out there fr that price.
